Welcome back everyone

I hope you had a grand March Break.  A few quick notes.

  • In Mathematics, we are starting our Geometry unit.
  • In Language, we are focusing on paragraph writing.
  • Friday we will have spelling sentences for the first time in awhile.
  • Friday night the Parent Council will host a movie night in the gym.  Doors open at 6 pm.  The movie is Small Foot.

It is going to get wet outside as the snow melts.  Please have your child put extra socks in their backpack.

Welcome to Spring! (if only it were so)

Apparently our groundhog did not see his shadow, so spring is right around the corner! Since there is still plenty of skiing to do and Winterlude has just started, I guess a little more winter is ok.  Hopefully the -30 days are behind us though.

Last week, our school had the snowshoes and our class was one of the few who had a chance to get out on them.  The students ran a few races and just enjoyed being outside.

This week:
Language: The students are finishing their winter scene descriptions.  In reading the students will focus on comprehension and retells.  Our poem this week is about Black History Month.
Math:  We started Data Management last week and this week we will make bar graphs, pictographs and discuss picking a scale for a graph.
Health and Media Literacy:  We will finish our Healthy Meal posters this week and put them up on display.
Science: We will start our next science unit this week.  Strong and Stable structures.

That is all for now.  Stay warm and enjoy the umm....spring?
