In Language, this week we are continuing our unit on Digital Citizenship. Today the students used Edmodo for the first time to help develop a class Digital Citizen pledge. If you wish to learn more about Edmodo have your child log into their school account through the Student portal. We will collect our ideas tomorrow to complete the pledge. We will also complete a Thanksgiving writing task this week. Books Logs will go home tomorrow. Please remind your child to read at least 15 min a night.
In Mathematics, we are learning to
round larger numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand and ten
thousand. We will consolidate our learning tomorrow. Wednesday we
will compare and order numbers using inequality signs i.e. less than
<, greater than > or equal=.
There will be a short quiz next
Thursday, October 13. Your child will be asked
- write number in standard form (756 413), expanded form (700
000 + 50 000 + 6 000 +400 +10 +3) and in words ( seven hundred
fifty-six thousand, four hundred thirteen).
- compare and order numbers
- use an inequality sign
- round numbers to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, or ten
thousand.
On Thursday, we will have the first Mass of the school year. Our class will be one of the classes organizing the Mass. The Mass will be in the school gym at 10:00, all are welcome to attend.
Finally our school Terry Fox Walk was great fun on Friday. Our class has not yet reached our goal of $50.00 ($2.00 per student and teachers). It is not too late to donate if you forgot. Please send in a toonie this week.
Sincerely,
Mrs T.
